This week we were asked to explain why the drug Nexium is still the best thing to do for acid reflux disease.
Nexium, the purple pill, was approved to treat GERD, but has been used off-label for some time. The brand of the drug has been linked to a small rise in heart attacks and strokes in the US. But studies have shown that people taking Nexium had an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Dr Loraine O'Hara of the University of Toronto in Canada, said that the drug is also being used to treat heartburn, an eating disorder that is very common.
“We’re seeing a dramatic increase in heartburn, so I think there’s a need for better studies to see if there’s a link between taking Nexium and heartburn,” she said.
Nexium has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks, a heart attack or stroke, although the link has not been proven.
Dr O’Hara said she believes that Nexium is a safe drug, and that the drug has been available for more than 60 years.
“We’ve seen a positive relationship with the product, which is very important to us.”
Nexium is a generic version of a brand name drug, esomeprazole, and is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. The drug can be taken before, during, or up to one hour after eating. The medication is also used to treat irritable bowel syndrome, or an inflammatory bowel disease in which the lining of the stomach is irritated by an excessive amount of acid.
Esomeprazole has been found to be safe to use in children and adults as long as you are taking the drug at the same time as other medications. However, the company says that some studies have shown that people taking the drug should not be monitored for heart disease, and that there are no data on the safety of Nexium for children.
The drug is being used in Australia to treat GERD. There has been no specific data on the safety of the drug for children, and the company says that there are no safety studies to be done on children.
Dr O’Hara said that there have been a few reports of heart attacks in children taking Nexium and that the drug is still not being used to treat heartburn.
“I’m not sure whether it’s a safe drug or not, but we’ve seen a very positive relationship with the product. It’s the same thing. It’s very important to us that there are safety studies to be done,” she said.
Nexium may also be a safe drug because it is considered a very safe drug, and it has been used in the past, which may have led to a change in its use in the past.
It is the same drug that is used in some of the anti-diarrheal drugs including Prilosec and Nexium. However, a study showed that people taking the drug had a reduced risk of some heart conditions in the past.
It is possible that Nexium may be linked to heartburn, but there is no information on the safety of the drug for children.
The drug is being used to treat acid reflux disease, and Nexium has been used off-label for about a decade.
Nexium, the purple pill, was approved to treat GERD, but has been used off-label for a little over a decade. The drug has been linked to a small increase in heart attacks in the US, and a new study has found no connection to heart attacks or strokes.“We know that there is an increased risk of heart attack with esomeprazole use. It’s important to us that people are monitored for heart disease, and that we continue to monitor patients,” Dr O’Hara said.
Dr Loraine O’Hara, the director of the division of gastrointestinal, at the University of Toronto in Canada, said that there are no studies in children and that the safety of the drug has not been proven.
